Welcome to our School Website

Headteacher’s Welcome

It is with great excitement and heartfelt anticipation that I introduce myself as the new Headteacher of St Austin’s Catholic Primary School from September.

From the moment I first encountered St Austin’s, I was struck by the strength of its community, the warmth of its welcome, and the beautiful mission that guides its every step: “St Austin's is like a star where the light inside each one of us shines brightly.” It is a privilege to be joining a school with such a strong sense of identity, where faith, compassion, and aspiration are at the heart of all we do.

At St Austin’s, we believe every child is a unique and precious individual, full of potential and capable of great things. Together, as a team and as a family, we strive to nurture that light in each of our children — encouraging them to grow in confidence, in wisdom, and in faith. Our school is a place where talents are celebrated, kindness is valued, and everyone is supported to be the very best they can be, following the path of Jesus.

As I begin this new chapter, I look forward to building strong partnerships with our pupils, families, staff, governors, and parish community. I believe that education is most powerful when it is rooted in trust, shared values, and open communication – and I am committed to leading our school with integrity, joy, and a deep sense of purpose.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope it gives you a glimpse of the spirit, ambition, and faith that make St Austin’s such a special place. I look forward to getting to know you and working together to ensure that every child’s light continues to shine brightly.

With warmest regards,

Mrs Lynsey Burgess

Headteacher
