Nepal

Since first matching in March 2021, we have been working with a partner school in Nepal through the British Council Connecting Classrooms scheme.

Our partner school is called Arundodaya School and it is located around two and a half hours west of Kathmandu.

Here is the link to their school website:  http://arunodayaschool.blogspot.com/

arunodaya school.PNGOur project centred around wildlife and the children at St. Austin's learnt about endangered animals around the world.  This linked to Global Goals 14 and 15 (Life below Water and Life on Land).

The children's work created a colourful hall display that we shared with our friends in Nepal.

Year 5 focused on the greater one-horned rhinoceros as this is native to Nepal.  The highlight of the project was some of our children talking to and sharing information with the class in Nepal.

We also learnt about different playground games that are played there and taught the children there how to play hopscotch.

Our links with Nepal continue as we share information with our special partner school.
